God does it so that people will fear him.
Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account. Though nothing can offer fulfillment, one need not adopt a pessimistic, cynical, or fatalistic view toward life. Enjoy life for what it is: a gift from the hand of God. Using pairs of antitheses in —8, Qoheleth begins to address why it is that God needs to be in the center of our worldview.
Stability can only be found in a God-centered approach. The basic worldview of Qoheleth having been set forth, the next sections address the application of that worldview to the situations of life. It is not difficult to apply it when life is going smoothly, but how does it stand up when adversity comes? That is the concern of — Qoheleth considers various situations in life that produce adversity. It is of interest that he focuses on the daily, routine frustrations that are all too frequently our common lot.
If the book of Job were to be criticized, one might complain that the scenario is too artificial. No one we know is the kind of person Job was, and very likely no one we know suffered to the extent Job did. But Qoheleth makes sure that we can identify with the examples he offers. The end result is that frustrations and adversity cannot be avoided. So what does his worldview offer? The solution suggested in chapter 7 is that we should not try to avoid frustration and adversity.
A God-centered worldview is willing to accept both prosperity and adversity as coming from the divine hand. Here Qoheleth deals not with cause that is, that God causes our frustrations , but with the idea that adversity serves a useful purpose in shaping us as individuals and particularly as people of faith. This is precisely the attitude Job took in the face of his troubles:. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised. Much of chapters 8—9 concerns adjusting our expectations of this world.
That is followed by warnings in chapter 10 about the power and effects of foolish behavior. Chapter 11 urges a cautious but not-too-cautious approach to life and reminds us that we are accountable for how we live and for the decisions we make. Finally, chapter 12 uses a flow of diverse images and allegories to encourage the reader to act now. Following the inclusio line of verse 8 comes what we call a colophon.
This was used in ancient Near Eastern literature to identify the author further and to epitomize what was written in the manuscript or tablet. As mentioned earlier, there is nothing here that reverses or negates the message of the book or offers a corrective to its teaching. Ultimately, Ecclesiastes is a book about how you make your way through life. We should accept what God sends our way, whether blessings or adversity.

Roman Catholic vs. How should it be celebrated? Though it might be a little contrary to what I said in the previous point, sometimes you can afford to be more straightforward with visitors to your landing page or website.

A CTA like "Contact Sales" lets people know they'll be connected directly to a sales person through chat, call, or appointment. Wishpond makes it simple to create forms to generate leads and email subscribers from your website. If your product needs a little more explaining, you might find yourself linking your primary CTAs to places like product pages or product tours.
Since it's hard to put an adequate amount of information on a popup, having a "Learn More" CTA for your visitors could push them to a page where they can get more details. Having a free product or trial is a huge benefit, and can dramatically improve the click-through rate of your CTAs. In this specific example, Netflix adds "for a month", which makes it clear to a visitor that they can sign up for a 1-month free trial. Setting accurate expectations on your CTA helps prepare your visitor for the next steps in your signup or purchasing process.
It's as straightforward as can be, and lets your visitors know that they'll be headed to a product page or category within your store. If you have multiple products or product categories, it's not a bad idea to add the name of the product or category to the CTA - for example, "Shop Women's" or "Shop Clearance". Though being straight-to-the-point isn't a bad thing for your ecommerce CTAs, you can be a little more subtle by using "Explore".
This is particularly great if your product pages act more like landing pages than traditional product pages, giving visitors more information about your products. Though it's pretty similar to the previous one, I'll include "Discover" because it's a relatively common CTA for businesses of all kinds. Again, it's great if you're sending people to detailed product pages, or even things like restaurant menus. Wishpond 's intuitive landing page builder makes it easy to generate leads and sales from your website traffic.
I'm a big proponent of discounts and promotions when it comes to marketing online. CTAs with numbers can be quite appealing, especially when those numbers represent discounts. And having a promotional offer for first-time shoppers is an awesome way to incentivize them to become customers.
Why not cut right to the chase? This essentially allows you to skip a whole step in your buying process, which could lead to higher conversion rates down the line. As you can see in this example, Shwood uses "New" instead of "Shop" to direct their visitors to product pages. This CTA is less actionable than "Shop Men's", but it does help tell visitors that they're shopping new arrivals to your store.
I'd be inclined to keep an action word in there - maybe "Shop New Menswear". Your CTA represents an action, so making this clear to your visitors can make it more compelling to click.

Sometimes, it's better to be direct. I like the "Buy Now" CTA in particular because, for a visitor, a lot of their intent is conveyed when they click. A lot of the commitment in ecommerce purchasing can be overcome when a visitor clicks "Buy Now". If you're a service-based business, it can be tough to get any real commitment from your potential customers until they've learned more.
Again, connect related ideas with a line. The BookMap gives you the benefits of writing in free-form and creating structure from all the connections you make. One way to do this is to rewrite each idea on a fresh piece of paper, this time grouped together in related topics. Or, you could simply use different-colored highlighters to categorize your ideas with different colors. So now you know exactly which topics to write about, and you know which points to cover in every chapter of your book.
For about a week, carry around sticky notes and write down anything and everything that crosses your mind regarding your possible book topics. When the week is up, organize all your sticky notes into sections and themes. Then, organize these themes into the patterns that would make sense in the context of chapters of your book. The ultimate outcome of using this method is deeper thinking, clarity, and concise organization of thoughts and patterns. You now have a chapter-by-chapter outline for your book. The only thing left to do…is to actually sit down and write it! But there are some ways that are easier, faster, and more successful than others.
You just repeat those steps on a smaller scale for each chapter. Cool, huh? As I mentioned, one of the benefits of this method is its speed. Just how fast can you write a first draft using speech dictation? Click Here to Save Your Spot. Unfortunately, no. Even when you have a solid plan, a proven system, and a detailed outline, you can still get tripped up by some of these sneaky book writing roadblocks. For some, being blocked means no words at all, while for others, it means trying to nail down a functional draft in the midst of a tornado of swirling ideas.
The only way to deal with it is to beat it. You sit down to write and you bang out a page or two.

Then you stop and reread what you just wrote. And instead of continuing, you go back and start editing those first few pages of writing. You want everything to be just right before you continue on ahead. Usually, when this sort of thing happens, it becomes very difficult to do any more writing. Few things are more irritating than having to go back through your entire book to fix the formatting.

The take-home lesson? Think about how you want to format your book before you write it, and then be consistent. And take the time to figure out how to format your book for publication. For example, did you realize that fiction and nonfiction books typically use different indentation styles? Now you know not only how to get started writing your book, but how to complete your book project in a mere 90 days!
With just a little bit of time and a lot of determination, you are on your way to officially calling yourself an author. Not quite. Because you still need to launch your book in a way that sets it up for success; in a way that maximizes your readers, your income, and your influence.
They throw their book up on Amazon without really having a plan, and as a result, they get very few sales, make almost no money, and are frustrated at the lack of response to their work. Instead, you need to dedicate some time to mastering the publishing and marketing processes on Amazon to sell more books.
This is the only way to make sure that your book makes its way into the hands of the people who will benefit from reading your words. If you follow this simple launch plan, you can rest assured that your book will come out with a bang and will generate steady sales right out of the gate and for years to come. But in reality, people do exactly that—all the time. Notice a couple things. The title is in the upper third of the book in large print, so you can read it even in a thumbnail. Both covers were designed using the same basic principles.
They also have subtitles that clarify exactly what the book is about. And in many genres of fiction and nonfiction, readers have come to expect a certain type of book cover. In order to clearly communicate what your book is about to your ideal readers, you need it to fit in with their expectations—while also standing out enough to grab their attention. This is another reason why it pays to head over to the Amazon bestselling books list and study some of the most successful books in your genre.

They could be friends, family, associates, online affiliates—anyone. Launch your book with their help, and work on continually building your launch team every chance you get. When you build a launch team , you need to make 2 things clear for everyone:. Step 1 is pretty simple: you want them to read your book, leave a review, and share it with their own friends and family. Step 2 can vary from person to person.
In many cases, they get things like:. As your launch team grows bigger, you might need to offer more than that. For example, maybe another person in your niche agrees to promote your new book to their email list—but in exchange, they want a percentage of your profit.
